Good documentation is important for any software product, no matter how simple or complex the technology is in practice. Mesosphere recently invested months revamping our documentation experience, and we're proud to finally be able to share it with the world. It has never been easier to find the right information about how to install and run Apache Mesos, our Datacenter Operating System (DCOS) or anything in between.
The first thing you'll notice when you visit the new site at docs.mesosphere.com is the search engine. It's front and center, and ready to serve you. Let's say you've heard that our Marathon technology is a great platform for running Docker containers in production, so you want to see what documentation we have on that topic.
Bam! There are, at the moment, 8 results. We've already beefed up the quantity and quality of our available documentation, and in the months to come we'll be adding more and better documentation on this topic and many others.
Once you're in a document—in this case, the top result from above—you'll notice that they are remarkably easy to read. They offer step-by-step walkthroughs and architectural diagrams where applicable. The sidebar makes it easy to navigate to other areas via an index, as well offering a table of contents for each post and links to related content.
We're also giving users more methods to interact with our documentation beyond simply searching for and reading the content. At the bottom of every page, you'll have the option to share the page, print it, save it as a PDF or submit feedback on the content. You can also print or download entire sections.
